There was a historic gathering at the Amistad Research Center in July when Director Kathe Hambric, in collaboration with Heather Hodges, director of advancement at the Historic New Orleans Collection, brought together African American leaders – predominantly women – who are now the chief executives of many of New Orleans’ major cultural institutions.
This powerful image captured, for the first time, their sheer numbers and how New Orleans is poised to become an international model for more broadly inclusive museum leadership. It is an important story for the city to share with the world, our community, philanthropists and our millions of visitors.
