Traumas that children experience today – natural disasters, gun violence or stresses associated with the pandemic – are occurring at an alarming rate. So Children’s Hospital New Orleans is setting the bar for mental health services to care for the growing needs of our region’s children.
Its new 51-bed Behavioral Health Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive pediatric mental health programs in the nation – offering the only pediatric psychiatric program on the Gulf Coast.
The hospital offers in-patient care and comprehensive outpatient services, working closely with parents and schools to identify mental health issues before they reach crisis level.
