Advent candles: What will you do to light the way?

The Advent Wreath, with its three purple candles and one pink candle, helps the faithful prepare for Jesus’ birth. Each week another candle is lit, bringing the light of Jesus into our hearts and homes. With so much darkness in our world, the brightening candles inspire us to define our own paths of light. What will we do to bring light into a dark world?

This past Sunday, we lit a pink candle representing Christmas joy, which reminds us that Jesus’ birth is near. We prepare with faith, families and friends, and rejoice in gratitude for our bountiful Christmas blessings.
