Kristi Trail is a trailblazing leader as Pontchartrain Conservancy’s executive director. Pontchartrain Conservancy confronts Louisiana’s crisis of diminishing water quality and land loss by driving environmental sustainability and stewardship through scientific research, education and advocacy.
Upon taking this role, Kristi aimed to reconnect the community with the lake by enhancing both its health and accessibility. Under her leadership, the nonprofit has improved the quality of the lake for recreational use, including cooperating with local farmers to reduce bacterial runoff and working to ban clam shell dredging.
This Women’s History Month, we celebrate Kristi’s pivotal role in driving Pontchartrain Conservancy’s efforts.
