To celebrate the opening of its much-anticipated museum expansion, The Historic New Orleans Collection is hosting a block party April 7 from 1 to 5 p.m.
The new facility at 520 Royal St. offers dynamic educational and interactive displays, galleries exploring the history of the French Quarter and an expanded museum shop. The first major exhibition, “Art of the City: Postmodern to Post-Katrina,” presented by The Helis Foundation, showcases contemporary art.
The block party will feature live music. Refreshments will be available for purchase from neighborhood businesses, including Café Cour, THNOC’s new museum café. Admission is free.
