Robin Thicke announced as Bacchus king

The annual Bacchus parade will be a family affair for this year’s monarch: singer-songwriter and record producer Robin Thicke.

Robin’s late father, actor Alan Thicke, was the popular Bacchus krewe’s celebrity monarch in 1988. The Thickes will be the first father-son duo to reign as Bacchus monarchs in the parade’s 52-year history. Robin’s son will ride as a page on the king’s float, just as Robin did when his father reigned.

The theme of this year’s parade is “Bacchus’s Wild, Wild West.” Watch exclusive coverage of the parade in its entirety on WWL-TV on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 10 p.m.
