Krewe of House Floats: celebrating a COVID-19 Mardi Gras

by The 100 Companies

Krewe of House Floats reflects the resilience and creativity of New Orleanians. One example is the partnership between the iconic Camellia Brand and TABASCO Brand Pepper Sauce with the nonprofit New Orleans Culinary Institute (NOCHI).

When the reality that Mardi Gras 2021 would be parade-less set in, it only took a nanosecond for New Orleans to creatively respond. Megan Boudreaux issued the challenge to turn your house into a float.

With thousands of people decorating, either by hiring artists or tapping into their inner DIY, revelers visit these “parades of homes” scattered throughout the Greater New Orleans area. Floats weaving through crowded routes have been replaced by house floats beckoning “paraders” to witness the majesty of a social distanced Mardi Gras.
