As the holidays approach and we celebrate and dine with our families, we cannot forget that one in four children in Louisiana experiences food insecurity.
During Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week this November, the New Orleans Women and Children’s Shelter raised awareness and donations with social media graphics, videos and radio and tv interviews. The shelter provided information about hunger and homelessness in New Orleans, how the shelter is assisting eight intact families and how to donate.
With the help of the New Orleans community and Strong City Tulane, the shelter created over 60 Thanksgiving baskets for families in need.
