Malik was born here but moved to Texas in 2005 after Katrina. Malik lived in San Antonio before attending Texas State University. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in electronic media and mass communication.
Malik’s first job brought him to San Angelo, where he was a producer, reporter, fill-in anchor and weatherman. Malik covered everything from breaking news to local events.
