The Mission Continues in the Lower Ninth Ward

A team of veteran volunteers with The Mission Continues lead change in New Orleans. The Mission Continues is a national nonprofit that empowers veterans to find growth, purpose and connection through community impact.

The team, known as a Service Platoon, leads service projects in NOLA’s Lower Ninth Ward, like repairing homes for pre-Katrina residents, transforming two acres of a deteriorated natural area and expanding community gardens in the neighborhood. By leveraging veterans’ skills and supporting local nonprofits, the NOLA Service Platoon is restoring and empowering the Lower Ninth Ward.
