After suffering from hearing loss, Gregory Scott became anxious when meeting with clients in public places throughout New York City. Not knowing if he could hear clients at bars or restaurants worried him.
Scott believed that creating an app to identify quiet locations could improve quality of life for people like him. Loud places don’t just affect those with hearing loss. Prolonged exposure to loud sounds can cause noise-induced damage, for people with good hearing.
The no-cost SoundPrint app takes user-submitted decibel measurements and grades restaurants and bars by noise, allowing you to find your quiet place.
