Dusting off your schmoozing skills

As COVID vaccinations become more available, people are starting to get out and about. So, it’s time to take off those sweatpants (but not your mask!) and get out from behind your computer. Amy Collins, CEO of Gambel Communications, shares tips on effective networking that she has learned from networker extraordinaire, Betsie Gambel:

1. Circulate!
2. Don’t sit with people you know — introduce yourself to new people and exchange business cards.
3. The true art to connecting with people: get them to talk about themselves. Listen and ask questions.
4. Contact is more important than contacts.
5. Follow up.
