The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is piloting a new policy dubbed “Flextirement,” which is designed to provide a period for eligible employees to transition from full-time to retirement. The policy aims to facilitate the transfer of valuable experience and knowledge within the organization and support succession planning while simultaneously allowing retiring employees to adapt to their new work-life balance.
Participants must be 55 years or older and have completed 10 years or more of full-time service to the Convention Center. Participants in this program retain partial benefits and compensation, pro-rated to an agreed upon hours of work.
