Breast Cancer Survivors row to build camaraderie and reduce recurrence, host free event May 7

by Katem

Inspired by studies showing the benefits of physical fitness in decreasing cancer recurrence, the Survivor Rowing Club aims to enhance both physical and emotional wellness for breast cancer survivors through rowing, a low-impact sport accessible at any age and fitness level, and a walking subgroup, called Walk on Water, to keep women active during recovery.

Founded in 2024 with support from Ochsner Health, the group will host a launch party on Wednesday, May 7 from 6-9 p.m. at the Audubon Clubhouse at 6975 Magazine St. for supporters, friends and potential members to learn more.
