Like mother, like daughter: making New Orleans proud

by The 100 Companies

Lindy Boggs was the first woman in Louisiana to be elected to the U.S. Congress and the first woman to chair a national party convention. A staunch advocate for justice and equality, particularly for women and minorities, Lindy was as firm in her convictions as she was approachable.

Like her mother, Cokie Roberts was also one-of-a-kind. She made her mark with three colleagues who collectively shaped the culture of NPR when there were few prominent female journalists. An Emmy Award-winning political commentator, Cokie was a regular on ABC News and Morning Edition, among others, and became a best-selling author.
