This spring, Councilmember At-Large Scott Walker and Jefferson Ready Start Network (JRSN) hosted a panel discussion, “Focus on the Future,” with community leaders to address early care and education (ECE) issues. The forum highlighted the critical need for business community involvement.
Approximately 70% of children (from birth to age 5) have parents working full-time, yet many families struggle to afford quality ECE. This impacts local businesses and the economy, costing Louisiana businesses $762 million annually.
Long-term sustainable funding is essential to ensure all children have access to quality ECE and enable families to work. Learn more about how to get involved.
