Ruby Slipper helps revitalize Broad Street corridor

Owners of The Ruby Slipper Cafe

There’s no place like home. That’s what owners of The Ruby Slipper Café, Jennifer and Erich Weishaupt, believed when they returned to New Orleans and opened their first restaurant after Hurricane Katrina.

Since then, the couple has created an icon here in NOLA, a location where everyone can feast on Southern food in authentic neighborhoods. Most recently, The Ruby Slipper Cafe opened on Broad Street, near the medical corridor and criminal courts, helping revitalize the area.

It’s the fifth Ruby Slipper Café in NOLA, illustrating the couple’s commitment to the city, from its food and culture to its growing communities.
