Red Jackets to the Rescue

You’ve seen our red jackets around New Orleans, but do you know how City Year AmeriCorps members impact our community?

City Year partners with schools to provide individualized support in overcoming the challenges students face in and out of school. More than 15,000 students have received support since the nonprofit’s inception in 2006, post-Katrina.

City Year has saved Louisiana more than $14,926,800 in increased social services, lost earnings and taxes. This success is thanks to more than 710,800 hours of service and 11,500 volunteers who dedicated their time working in schools throughout New Orleans.
