The void retirement brings

by

Two of my closest colleagues recently retired. Barbara LeBlanc had been at the Parenting Center/Children’s Hospital for over 40 years, and Priscilla Lawrence at The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) for almost 40.

In fact, THNOC is my longest-tenured client, and Barbara was a “go-to” for community partnerships. While I’m happy for them, I feel a void. I think women in particular often see working relationships evolve into friendships, especially when they’ve worked together for many years. While our connectedness may differ in this new chapter, my professional and personal lives have been enriched by these women.
