My mom is in the process of moving, so last weekend I went to her house to help pack. As I worked on wrapping the dishes, some of them nostalgic childhood pieces, I took great care in ensuring every corner was covered and protected so that they could survive the journey in one piece.
For some reason, this made me think about relationships, particularly those closest to me. In order for relationships to survive – and yes, hopefully thrive – we have to actively protect them from getting nicked and scratched over time. This takes time and attention, but is so important.
