On Oct. 24, Chalmette Refining held its 10th Annual Jambalaya Cook-Off benefitting the United Way of Southeast Louisiana (UWSELA). Twenty-six teams vied for the coveted first place “golden paddles,” along with bragging rights for the next year.
The judges for the event were local dignitaries and chefs, and all of the proceeds from the lunch sales ($7,919.48) went to United Way of Southeast Louisiana.
The cook-off is only one component of the employee campaign that began in October. Over the past five years, employees have given donations totaling more than $1,200,000, making Chalmette Refining one of UWSELA’s top five partners.
