Giving back: Angels’ Place offers families respite when it’s needed most

by The 100 Companies

Home Bank Helps grant recipient Angels’ Place was founded by Anita Gilford while her son was treated for cancer. She found that there were few places a family could turn to for respite care. Being personally aware of this lack of support, she promised to dedicate her life to helping seriously ill children and their families.

Anita fulfilled her promise by creating the nonprofit Angels’ Place. Their trained volunteers watch over Angels’ Place children at hospitals or provide household aid to families free of charge. They receive clients through referrals from Children’s Hospital of New Orleans and Ochsner Health System.
