With Americans returning to active lifestyles as the country fully reopens, pickleball is continuing its incredible rise.
Pickleball participation saw a whopping 39.3% growth over the last two years to become the country’s fastest growing sport, according to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association’s (SFIA) annual Topline Participation Report, released this month.
Overall inactivity among Americans of all ages declined for the second-consecutive year.
Outdoor sports showed a 2.2% increase, second only to water sports. Pandemic-friendly activities like tennis, golf, walking, running, hiking, yoga and surfing continue to be popular, while other categories that declined in 2020 are recovering.
