Chalmette Refining is proud to sponsor the Terrific Kids/Teens program in every school in St. Bernard Parish. The program, administered by the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi, has been fully funded by Chalmette Refining for over 25 years.
It is a student-recognition program promoting character development, self-esteem and perseverance. “Terrific” is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable.
The students are honored at their individual schools throughout the year, culminating with a final pancake breakfast celebration held in May. This year, over 800 breakfasts were served to honorees and their families.
