THNOC’s new president and CEO, Daniel Hammer, is the museum’s first leader to have been raised in New Orleans, and he recently answered questions on his favorite local haunts and the French Quarter’s role in modern day New Orleans.

He sees the neighborhood as an irreplaceable storytelling tool for our global city. And as THNOC grows, he says, we do our part to sustain the neighborhood’s historic value so that locals and visitors alike can understand that the future of the area is linked to the preservation of its past.
