The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) recognized JEDCO for its innovative approaches to economic development. JEDCO won three Excellence Awards:
• Neighborhood Development: JEDCO’s focus on revitalizing aging housing stock led to the construction of a 1,500-square-foot model home in Terrytown.
• Innovative Finance Project: The JEDgrow Loan Program provides creative financing solutions to small businesses unable to secure traditional loans through a bank. In less than five years, JEDCO funded 62 JEDgrow projects.
• Innovation in Economic Development Week: JEDCO’s open house, door-to-door business walks and dynamic social media campaigns raised awareness about how economic development efforts serve the community.
