New Orleans is bursting with art; however, our bureaucracy is almost as well-known as our culture. But working with the city can assist artists.
Since 2010, our administration has overhauled the permitting system, making a one-stop shop for permits to help festival organizers. We also support artists and cultural businesses by creating guides about everything from permits to zoning.
Providing basic information to artists may seem obvious, but informing the cultural community about using the tools of government to support culture is a crucial government function in a city where 14% of jobs are in the cultural economy.
