Throw Me Something, Mister!

by

Growing up in New Orleans, you forget that parades everywhere else don’t throw beads and trinkets. But come on, who really wants to watch a parade and not catch anything?

There’s an old story about a New Orleans boy attending a parade somewhere in Pennsylvania. Upon arrival of the first float, the kid instinctively raises his hands and yells, “Throw me something mister!” How could his parents not be amused?

Personally, I like cups. I use ‘em and toss ‘em. Beads pile up and honestly, who really has the time to craft bead lamps and dreamcatchers annually? Hello garage sale!
