New Orleans and jazz go together like gin and tonic. As we near the city’s Tricentennial in 2018, it’s important to promote the global understanding and recognition of jazz as one of the most innovative and pivotal art forms in the history of the world.
So it’s only natural the State Museum created a New Orleans Jazz Museum, complete with interactive exhibits, research facilities and, of course, musical performances.
Opened in 2015, the museum is perfectly situated at the intersection of the French Quarter and the Marigny, steps from Frenchmen Street, inside the historic Old U.S. Mint on Esplanade.
