This month, I will have an amazing experience — crewing on the tall ship Oosterschelde, traveling from Pensacola to commemorate New Orleans’ Tricentennial.
This vessel from the Netherlands will convene with other tall ships at the mouth of the Mississippi River under full sail before journeying upriver to dock at Woldenberg Park, April 19-22. There, they will be open to the public, sharing their missions and their history. New Orleans will also host two additional ships, including General Patton’s When and If, that will offer day sails on Lake Pontchartrain.
Tall ships travel the world to bring maritime history alive.
