Here in New Orleans, when you meet someone, there are two degrees of separation – or fewer – between you. That’s why, when disaster strikes, New Orleanians mobilize for their community.
As soon as the tornadoes struck three weeks ago, businesses and nonprofits rallied around those affected. The Greater New Orleans Foundation created its Helping our Neighbors: Tornado Relief Fund. Trombone Shorty agreed to match all funds up to $50,000.
On Valentine’s Day, Gardner Realtors, through its Gardner Love Anything Drive, distributed donations for those affected by the tornadoes in New Orleans East. Our thoughts and prayers remain with our community.
