Chalmette Refining donates over 3,000 pounds of food

by

Recently, Chalmette Refining donated 3,216 pounds of frozen food to the Second Harvest Food Bank (SHFB), an organization that is leading the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education and disaster response. SHFB provides food and support to more than 700 community partners and programs across 23 parishes.

The donation of frozen food was mostly protein.

“We are so grateful for this incredible donation,” said Lindsay Hendrix of SHFB. “Protein is not often easy to come by, and it’s something our clients always ask for. It means so much to us and our clients.”
