Carnival Ball to share stories of Mardi Gras pageantry – past and present

by The 100 Companies

Did you know the Rex Organization has staged its Carnival Ball at four different spots over its 151-year history? Can you name them? They are: Exposition Hall (or Washington Artillery Hall) and the Athenaeum, both located on St. Charles Avenue; the Municipal Auditorium; and, since 2006, the Sheraton Hotel.

WYES-TV will take you there for live coverage of the 2023 Rex Ball and the Meeting of the Courts of Rex and Comus, a tradition which dates to 1882.

Tune in Mardi Gras Day, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. on WYES.org , the WYES  and PBS apps and WYES’ YouTube channel.
