My visit to Africa this summer was the trip of a lifetime: a safari in the Serengeti, sailing and snorkeling in Zanzibar and a city experience in Cape Town.

While Africa was not on my bucket list, perhaps because of my trepidation of animals, my best friends were going and I had serious fear of missing out. The trip was amazing – from animals to cultures.

Mark Twain’s quotation truly hit home: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did.” I plan to keep by suitcase packed – just in case.
