Many people don’t know that The Beautiful Foundation started in 1999, and that I was a participant. In 2005, my mom signed me up to attend camp and even though I wasn’t “at risk” (our typical audience), I was interested in the camp and the other girls.
Why? It’s simple: as teenage girls, we have the same questions and need a safe space to ask them. This vulnerability connected us and inspired me to become a mentor at TBF and later serve as Executive Director.
We continue to provide safe spaces for girls to learn, express themselves and feel empowered.
