January. A time to look forward. Yet the future is void of meaning if we do not reflect on the past.
2018 marks the Tricentennial of the City of New Orleans, 300 years since Bienville selected the site to found a new colony. After Hurricane Katrina, naysayers questioned the value of New Orleans – the home of jazz and Creole cuisine, a major supplier of oil and gas, a sportsman’s paradise, and one of the most diverse and culturally rich cities in the world. New Orleans’ joie de vivre is unmatched.
Happy birthday, New Orleans! I’m proud to call you home!
