Value of a NOLA public school education

by

I consider myself fortunate to have spent my educational lifetime in public schools. I attended Audubon Charter, Roosevelt Middle School and Bonnabel High.

As a physician, I founded Ochsner’s Department of Pain Management, a successful medical practice that has been recognized multiple times as one of the top healthcare organizations in the nation.

Although we can certainly invest in our communities by raising resources for education, schools often have pathways (gifted and AP programs) for students inclined to achieve more. Ultimately, your ability to push yourself is a better judge of what you will achieve than your circumstances or environment.
