An eye for design

by
Foyer of the Garden House

The Southern Hotel has become a prominent fixture in historic downtown Covington, and Lisa Condrey Ward’s new labor of love, the Garden House, is making a splash on the Northshore for its preservation of history and enthusiasm for the 1930s era.

The Dorothy Draper-inspired design focuses on vibrant wallpapers, bright furniture and more importantly, local artists. Ward’s eye for design and attention to detail unite pieces curated locally and from her personal collection. The Garden House features a restored original mural by Xavier Gonzalez painted in 1939 and work from artists, including Marianne Rodriguez, Jan Dicks and Peg Usner.
