Over the summer, Chalmette Refining is hosting several one-day Energy Camps that highlight the different types of jobs that are available at the facility.
By the end of the summer, students from the Nunez Community College Career Exploration and Process Technology programs; Tulane University; Chalmette High School (including STEM teachers); GNO (Great New Orleans), Inc.’s WISE Women program; and employees’ children will learn about jobs varying from accountants to operators and electricians to engineers, to name only a few.
Students participate in fun, engaging experiments and even get the chance to don equipment from the facility’s internal fire department.
