During the 1990s, WWL-TV partnered with WeatherBug to create a school network called Weather Link 4. The network connected school curriculums with the science and climatology of weather. The network has expanded to include local businesses who participate by placing weather stations and cameras on location.
Currently we have 90 local sites that are operational allowing WWL-TV meteorologists to showcase weather happening live around our region. You often see beautiful sunrises courtesy of this network. Recently, while our meteorologists were live on-air, the Estelle Elementary camera caught flying debris from a tornado near the school. Learn more.
