Providing hope to those who need it most

Tucked away on MLK Boulevard is a women’s emergency shelter run by two nuns: Hotel Hope. Mothers arrive with their children in the most dire circumstances. The frightened looks on children’s faces indicate trauma and mothers are in survival mode.

Recently, a mother arrived with two-day-old twins. Can you imagine not having one person in your life to help you? Last week, five rooms had the a/c break, which resulted in the shelter turning away five mothers. They slept in cars or on the street with their kids.
